Douglas Edwards

Douglas Edwards is an award-winning author and philosopher, who has published numerous books and articles in the philosophical areas of metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of language. His book The Metaphysics of Truth (Oxford University Press, 2018) won the American Philosophical Association’s 2019 Sanders Book Prize.

An avid pro wrestling fan since he was a kid, Doug decided to go where no philosopher had gone before, and write a book examining pro wrestling from a philosophical perspective. Philosophy Smackdown was the result!

Originally from the UK, Doug has a PhD in philosophy from the University of St Andrews, and now lives in upstate New York with his wife and two kids, where he is a philosophy professor at Utica College.
